Oud has a reputation for being intense — smoky, medicinal, an acquired taste. That's true of some ouds. It doesn't have to be true of yours. Here's where to start.
Obsidian
Smoky Assam oud and dark raspberry over warm amber and raw leather. Dense and sticky for the first hour, then drier and closer to the skin. This is oud at its most classic and intense — start here if you want the real thing.
Soft Spice
Oud and warm spice with creamy vanilla and a little leather underneath. Softer than most oud fragrances, which is the whole point of it — a good entry point if Obsidian sounds like too much.
